Tourism must flourish, important to rebuild city’s image: Delhi CM

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday emphasised that it is important to rebuild the image of the national capital as a positive city, and it beats in the hearts of millions of Indians.

Gupta emphasised that Delhi has all the factors that an international tourist seeks, and all that the city needs is the right platform and proper exposure.

She said that Delhi has a rich history, culture, music, and cuisine, the things that tourists seek, adding that tourism in the city must flourish.

Gupta, while speaking to reporters at the sidelines of an event, said that the government is continuously working to make the city cleaner, greener, and more beautiful, which will build the image and also contribute to tourism.

She expressed that the government wants the heritage of the city and the cultural richness to be presented in the tourist experience.

Gupta expressed that she is happy to see the tourism department under Minister Kapil Mishra has come up with the investor’s summit with regard to the tourism industry, and it has witnessed participation from different places in the world.

The CM said that people seem interested in getting connected with Delhi and further promoting tourism in the country.

She said Delhi has different sectors of tourism, which include health, education, and heritage tourism, adding that the government will work on all the aspects and take the city effectively forward in this direction.

Speaking on the occasion, Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said that the summit has witnessed participation from various industry experts, investors from across the globe.

Representatives are here from the hospitality industry, medical tourism sector, and the plan is to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Delhi’s tourism.

Mishra informed that several important decisions will be made after this summit regarding the national capital’s tourism.
